 Volunteering

The Lighthouse could not do what it does without the amazing help from it’s volunteers and supporters. If you would like to be a part of our volunteering team then we would love to hear from you.

We provide volunteering opportunities for everyone over the age of 18, whether working,  retired, or between jobs.

Volunteering at Lighthouse can help build confidence, rebuild self-esteem, is very rewarding and according to our volunteers, fun.

If you want to volunteer with the Lighthouse then please download and complete our volunteer application pack and return it to us.

On receipt we will contact you as soon as possible.

Poppy

I enjoy volunteering at the Lighthouse Project for many reasons.

I know that I am in some way helping to preserve the environment by reusing items and preventing furniture going into landfill.

I am volunteering for a charity which helps people in need which makes it very rewarding.

I help with the social media and marketing which is good for me as this is the career I am pursuing and it provides me with valuable experience whilst I am job hunting.

It brings me into contact with many new people who are extremely welcoming and kind making it always interesting.

Loves fashion and music.

Roger

I have been volunteering from the start! Thats over 25 years.

I helps move and build furniture coming in and out as well as other warehouse job.

“I’ve been volunteering with Lighthouse from the beginning and been a part of it as it’s grown. It’s good to meet new people and make new friends whilst at the same time knowing you are helping others in need.”

His favorite lunch is a smoked salmon and cream cheese beigel.

Jan

I have been volunteering at Lighthouse for 10 years and helps on the sales desk.

“When I retired from work I wanted something to fill up my time and thought that volunteering would be ideal. After learning about the Lighthouse I decided that that would be the way to go.

In the years that I have worked here I have found friendship and a happy place to work. Being at the Lighthouse means I am part of a charity that is helping people in need and I find it both worthwhile and fulfilling”

Her favorite colour is Pink.
