Charity donations & gift aid
Donations are our lifeblood and without your generosity, the Lighthouse Furniture Project would not be able to offer the service we do, especially to those in distress and need in Essex and East London. To find out more about making charity donations and gift aid, please get in touch.

Donate your time
Help and support come in many forms, and that includes giving your time. We’re always looking for volunteers to help us collect furniture, fix appliances and help with the day to day running of our charity shop in Brentwood.

Donating furniture
We collect furniture, white goods and household items from the postcode areas in the table FREE of charge and further afield by special arrangement.
We accept most furniture items, provided they are in reusable condition, do not have too much wear and comply with fire safety and Trading Standards regulations along with all sizes of appliances.
Even if they have a fault, we can still accept it as we have engineers that will run tests and fix anything that needs it.
Our team in Essex will also take clean bedding and covers as well as kitchen utensils and crockery as these items get passed on to families in need of support.
Fundraising support
Donations let us help some of the people that need it most. Our donors help us to generate more income which helps us have more of an impact. Fun runs, coffee mornings, school events – whatever kind of fundraising support you want to be involved in, we’re always grateful when our local community gets behind us.

What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a government scheme that lets us reclaim a basic rate of tax that you pay.
Lighthouse Furniture Project are registered for Gift Aid, so if you’re a UK tax payer, let us know so we can claim it on your donation. It allows us to claim 25p for every £1, so it really can make a difference.
